Do you need a recommended interpreter to use infoports?

If you don't want to search for a interpreter yourself, get in touch with us. We regularly work with experienced conference translators who are well acquainted with the infoport system. Based on the description of your event, we will select and recommend the appropriate person or team, and also help coordinate the timing and terms of collaboration.

Are infoports for you?

Check!

Infoports are being used more and more often for simultaneous interpreting. It is not difficult to find an interpreter who agrees to work with this system. However, an experienced conference interpreter can assess when infoports are a good solution and when it is better to opt for an interpretation booth.

Most conference interpreters prefer working in booths - both for comfort and for a higher level of safety and professionalism. Interpreters are aware of the risks associated with the confidentiality of content transmitted through radio systems. They also know that when working in a booth, there is always a technician available to assist them in case of technical problems.

What to pay attention to when choosing an interpreter?

When talking to a conference interpreter, it is worth:

  • Briefly describing the nature of the event (topic, number of participants, location),
  • Indicating whether mobility is required (e.g. a walk around the site, changing rooms),
  • Asking directly whether it is possible to use infoports safely and comfortably at the given event,
  • Asking about experience in working with portable systems.

Some interpreters have their own small infoport sets or regularly cooperate with companies that rent larger equipment. It is worth asking for their opinion when talking with conference interpreters - an interpreter with experience in operating infoports will be better prepared to work in nonstandard or unspecified conditions.

How to assess whether infoports are the right solution?

The choice between an infoport and an interpretation booth depends on the specifics of the event. If you want to quickly check which solution will be better in your case, use our free decision-making tool: Go to the decision-making tool →
